By spoofing the Firefox user agent to make it look like Google Chrome, YouTube loads completely differently and faster. There is no waiting time and the page as a whole appears more quickly.
Another user found code on YouTube.com that shows a “timeout” function in the script to force users to wait five seconds before the page loads. However, this may be related To crack down on ad blockers.
It should be noted that this code itself does not appear to refer to Firefox in particular. Another point is that “spoofing” Chrome to behave like Firefox does not trigger this delay on YouTube. However, it could just be a technical error.
Some users have raised a theory that this is something that was done intentionally by Google, but no concrete evidence has been provided to suggest this. In turn, Google has not yet acknowledged the problem or commented on the matter publicly.
