YouTube is starting to meet an old request from users: to use single bookmarks, also known as knobs.
This Monday (10), YouTube announces the launch of a unique identifiers app users and channels. The novelty was first made available to large channels and the most active users of the platform and should reach everyone by November 14.
Unique identifiers, also known as handles, are tags that can be used directly in a channel’s URL. The platform said it will notify its users when the ID becomes available to each of them. Anyone who doesn’t choose their ID by the deadline will have a handle automatically generated with the channel name.
The novelty fulfills a long-standing request of YouTubers, as the big difference between them is that they are unique: once selected, they will have no other equivalent on the platform. The username or channel name will not be affected by the chosen identifier, and the URL will remain the same.
YouTube is already planning a new design for the platform The visual changes will occur in your applications as well as in the web version. The testing phase has already begun and some users have already accessed the changes to evaluate a piece of news on the way.
