Complementing the existing seven maintenance lines with three more, Lufthansa Technik Philippines recently inaugurated a new aircraft hangar with a ceremonial ceremony at Manila Airport.
Spaces in the new hangar can be configured as needed, being able to allocate four narrow-hull planes, or one wide-body and two narrow-hull planes. Alternatively, an Airbus A380 can also be accommodated.
The completion of the 9,000 square meter hangar, tentatively planned for September 2020, has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The fourth hangar will increase the overhaul capabilities of Lufthansa Technik Philippines by up to 20% and open employment for at least 275 additional employees.
This is a very special achievement for the company in its 22nd year of existence, Elmar Luther, President and CEO of Lufthansa Technik Philippines, said on the occasion of the opening ceremony: “It marks the transition from some of the most difficult times we are living as a company due to the pandemic to the current stage of remarkable recovery. , with tangible and tangible evidence that we see a clearer sky before us.”
Rainer Janke, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Lufthansa Technik Philippines, commented that the opening of the new hangar is the company’s response to the growing demand for aircraft maintenance, as travel continues to increase and the majority of the world’s fleets return to work.
“We are pleased to offer our customers first-class service with reliable repairs that make a valuable contribution to the stability of their flight operations,” Yankee concluded.
