Microsoft today released the new update KB5035849 for Windows 10, as part of Patch Tuesday, but some users are now reporting failures when trying to install it.
Based on reportsthe update fails at installation time, both on Windows 10 and on Windows Server, with error code 0xd0000034.
The failure occurs when users try to install the new update via Windows Update, and the reports seem to focus more on Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019, which reached end of mainstream support in January, but should remain with extended support until January 2029.
So far, Microsoft has not yet confirmed that there are problems with the update, and the update page still indicates that there are no known defects.
However, many users have started reporting this issue on the company's support forums. Direct installation via Windows Update appears to be causing the issues, as downloading the installation package manually seems to allow for the correct update.
For anyone experiencing this issue, the update can be downloaded directly from Microsoft's update catalog.
