The UFC ‘BMF’ title is on the line this weekend as Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje battle for the promotion’s unique ‘Badest Motherfucker’ status.
Poirier stopped Cathje in an entertaining bout in 2018, and the American has since won the interim lightweight belt on separate occasions, although both have lost two undisputed title bouts. Now, they have a chance to add one more award to their resume.
Poirier, 34, and Gaethje, also 34, will face each other as a new BMF champion, and the title has only been seen once before in the UFC — when the now-retired Jorge Masvidal defeated Nate Diaz in 2019.
In the co-main event of UFC 291, former light heavyweight champion John Blachowicz takes on Alex Pereira in the division in his first fight since losing his middleweight belt in April. Elsewhere, the card has plenty of exciting matches.
Here’s everything you need to know.
When is that?
