The new WhatsApp update will give the app a new feature that allows you to search for companies in the regions of your choice. This means that if you are looking for a certain type of store, you will be able to find it as quickly as you can send a message to clear your doubts.
This feature will initially be available in select markets such as Colombia, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Mexico and Brazil, as the application plays an essential role in daily business. The directory will contain all the stores that are part of the business platform, allowing search by name or category.
WhatsApp also wants to mediate payments between consumers and stores, as it does with WeChat, in China, for example. Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, started A test phase in India, in August, where it launched a function that enables these bank card transactions. The same system is now being tested in Brazil, with a limited group of users.
WhatsApp has not indicated what plans it has to expand these features, but has confirmed that it intends to do so “in the future.”
Meta has invested in developing commerce tools across all of its apps, including Facebook and Instagram, so these new functionality will help the company, not only to ensure a more unified experience across its entire ecosystem of social platforms, but also to generate more revenue.
