WhatsApp has announced a change in its appearance, which has already been tested recently. The app has officially added a new navigation bar located at the bottom of the screen.
According to the official publication of the Messenger, the change will work on “Make it easier to access what you need, when you need it.”. Furthermore, the post adds that the redesign will bring navigation closer to your thumb and easier on the eyes, as you can see below.
With this new feature, in addition to allowing switching between tabs using gestures to move between them, the user will no longer need to extend his finger to the top of the screen to access another part of the interface.
Another change is in the name of the Status bar, which is now called Updates. In the other three options, you can open chats and communities and make voice calls. They now have icons, not just words, as was the case before. The green color has also been replaced with a white background.
The change was implemented in some countries weeks ago. Now with the official announcement on X's WhatsApp (Twitter) account, it means the change can be used globally.
WhatsApp can be downloaded or updated for Android and iOS, through the respective official stores. Download is available via the links on the card below the text.
