We already know when the first Mercadona de Setúbal will open
The Spanish retailer will open on Tuesday, June 28, at the Avenida Mestre Lima de Freitas.
Ever since Mercadona’s business began at Avenida Mestre Lima de Freitas, in Setúbal, there has been speculation on social media about the opening date. The work progressed quickly and we knew the opening would be soon.
However, on Thursday, June 2, the brand revealed that the first store of the Spanish retailer in Setúbal will open on June 28, Tuesday, at 9 a.m., on Avenida Mestre Lima de Freitas next to Conforama.
The space will be about 1900 square meters and a large variety of products, such as sushi, charcuterie, fish, meat, beauty and skin care products, ready-to-eat meals, desserts, and many more. It will also have a car park for 140 places.
Given the RecruitmentMercadona has employed about 65 employees who have undergone training in stores in the north of the country.
This opening marks the brand’s arrival in Sado after it began its expansion across northern Portugal in July 2019, opening its first store in Candelo, Vila Nova de Gaia.
In addition to Setúbal, the company plans to open seven more supermarkets this year in Montego, Santarém, Caldas da Rainha, Santa Maria da Feira, Oeiras, Viseu and Braga. The goal is to finish 2022 with 39 stores in Portugal.
