According to publisher Warner Music Portugal, in a statement released today, “Salvador Sobral’s desire to experience all of the world’s music and Agir’s creative drive was the starting point for the musical partnership that began at Mesa de Frades. [casa de fados em Lisboa] And soon he jumped into the studio.”
Agger, quoted in the statement, notes that the two began “by making a sound without compromise, only with melodies on an instrument”.

In the second session [de estúdio]Salvador brought the lyrics to the ready-made songs and when he started recording it, he said, “The girl you’re in,” and then, imagining a video, it was a moment. I like this attitude of the true freedom of the Savior, to do what he wants and to risk things more “outside”. “If a song is going to repeat the same song forever, we’re not doing anything here,” he said.
Salvador Sobral, also quoted in the statement, shared that he wanted to “try all kinds” and that he had the opportunity to talk about this desire with Agir.
“I learned a lot from Agir, not only in the musical field to not think too much and always allow the creative flow, but also in the personal sphere. He is an artist who knows exactly what he wants and is one of the most focused artists I know, without shyness in saying no to something he doesn’t like. There is no shame in thinking giant and then making it big,” he said.
In a call with Lusa, a source from the publisher clarified that the theme released today is “not part of any artist’s album.”
