The UK Department of Health is investigating the manifestation of another new variant found in 16 new infections in the UK.
According to The Telegraph, this Saturday, the variant, called P.1621, is associated with international travel. There is currently no evidence for active social outreach.
Although the origin of this new variant was decided by experts on July 21, the British newspaper clarifies that the authorities had already discovered it for several weeks as cases in other countries were confirmed, the delta variation, which had been around for about two months and Nepal already dominated the world.
So far, 325 cases have been confirmed in Colombia, 264 in the United States, 196 in Spain and 122 in Mexico, but there are also case reports in Europe, South America and other countries in Asia.
In the United Kingdom, 16 confirmed cases have been reported in various regions, and London is currently the hub where there are 10 cases between young people aged 20 to 29, three of which are related to international travel.
Although the emergence of this new strain may worry experts in the future, at this time, the British Ministry of Health warns that there are no signs of resistance to the Govt-19 vaccine.
