The employment rate was 75.6%, according to ONS data, but increased by 0.9 percentage points (74.7%) compared to the same period in 2021.
During the period under review, average pay increased by 6.8% and regular pay (excluding bonuses) by 4.2%. In real terms (adjusted for inflation), growth in total wages was 0.4%.
In terms of the number of vacancies, between March and May, the growth rate of vacancies reached a new record of 1.3 million, despite the slowdown.
