After weeks of speculation about the Princess of Wales' health, Kate Middleton announced this Friday that she will begin chemotherapy treatment.
The medical condition was diagnosed by the medical team after abdominal surgery in January.
“Obviously this has all been a huge shock and William and I are trying our best to process and manage this all personally for the sake of our young family,” she said in a BBC video.
However, the Princess of Wales left a message of hope: “I'm fine, I'm getting stronger every day,” she said.
Kate Middleton says it “took a while” to recover from surgery before starting treatment. The 42-year-old princess was admitted to hospital on January 16 for abdominal surgery.
At the time, Buckingham Palace refused to disclose why Kate Middleton underwent this surgical intervention, but said it was not due to a cancer condition.
“To all those facing this disease, in any way, do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone,” he added, asking for “some time, space and privacy.”
Carlos is “very proud” of Kate Middleton's courage. He said he had been in “close contact” with his daughter-in-law in recent weeks and that they had spent time together at the hospital.
Responding to Kate Middleton's announcement, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said this Friday that the Princess of Wales has “the love and support of the entire country” as she recovers.Asking for “privacy” during treatment.
“You have shown enormous courage with your statement today. In recent weeks, you have come under intense scrutiny and have been treated unfairly by some media outlets and social media around the world,” the head of the British government said.
