Previously, the Ukrainian authorities appealed to the population still remaining in the areas occupied by Russia – in the southern regions of Kherson and Zaporizhia – to leave the region, in order to avoid damage and suffering during the recapture offensive.
Independent sources and media did not confirm the latest information about the military situation in the region.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister for the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories, Irina Vereshchuk, called on residents of the areas occupied by Russian troops to “evacuate the places where they are.”
Vereshov delivered the message to the population during the government’s daily news program, which is broadcast on all Ukrainian television stations.

These two regions are neighbors of the Crimea, which has been invaded and annexed by Russia since 2014. In some cities of the region, residents have set up local administrative bodies that cooperate with Moscow.
Russia launched a military attack on Ukraine on February 24 that killed nearly 5,000 civilians, according to the United Nations, which warns that the real number is likely to be much higher.
