This is the year when Porsche celebrates its 70 years of existence with many clubs around the world. For England, it’s been around for 60 years, leading to an incredible tour.
The Porsche Club of Great Britain organized a fantastic road trip to celebrate its 60th anniversary and the brand’s 70th clubs around the world. In total, 50 models from the German brand, from the 356 to the new Taykon, were joined by the Boxster, Cayman, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera and, of course, the iconic 911.
A caravan of 100 participants in 50 cars painted in different colors like Ruby Star, mint green, racing yellow or shark blue, used the routes and headed towards the Swiss Alps for incredible driving moments and less spectacular views. Dimmelsjökull pass and more.
With few cars left, the route from England to France was made in small groups, with a meeting point at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, where club members could give hundreds of free reins. Horses from your samples. After that, it was time to get back on the road to Stuttgart, where, in between the two-for-one, a visit to the Porsche factory, there was an exhibition dinner at the brand’s museum.
After visiting France, Belgium, Germany and Austria, the group headed to Italy, with the aim of discovering the world’s newest (and largest) Porsche Experience Center, located in the Franciacorta area in the heart of Brescia. It has an area of 5,600 meters and a runway of 2.5 kilometers.
The return to the United Kingdom was done more or less privately, with each participant organizing themselves as they saw fit, alone or with other participants. In total, more than 4,500 kilometers were covered in ten days, creating memories and stories that await continuation in future editions.
