UFC London, held on Saturday (19), celebrated the return of the organization headed by Dana White to the English capital, a fact that has not happened since the beginning of the pandemic. Within the Octagon, the show featured 12 high-profile matches, nine of which were decided by the fast track. As a way of rewarding athletes who won their duels by knockout or surrender, Ultimate awarded a “Performance of the Night” bonus to each of them.
With that said, the nine fast-track winners at UFC London repatriated, in addition to the contractually predetermined value of their performances, an additional $50,000 (about R$250,000) for their outstanding performance on Saturday. The award-winning athletes are: Tom Aspinal, Arnold Allen, Paddy Pemblet, Molly McCann, Ilya Topuria, Makwan Amirkhani, Sergey Pavlovich, Paul Craig and Muhammed Mokayev.
Among the award recipients, representatives of the United Kingdom stand out at the event. English heavyweight Tom Aspinal presented Russia’s Alexander Volkov in the main event at UFC London. In the co-main event, fellow New Zealander Arnold Allen knocked out Dan Hooker.
New UFC sensation, young England promise Paddy Pimblett – who is compared to Conor McGregor – recovered after a poor start to the fight and introduced Mexican Kazula Vargas, also the main card in the release. In turn, Englishman Molly McCann also ousted Brazil’s Luana “The Awe” in a stunning fashion, raising the audience’s attendance.
In the initial batch of UFC London’s card, Scotsman Paul Craig of Ukraine introduced Nikita Krylov, while the fighter from Dagestan, Russia, Muhammed Mukeev – who fights under the UK flag – made his debut in the organization with a quick victory over American Cody Durden, also by submission.
