This weekend’s UFC Fight Night will feature what should be an interesting contest between Brian Ortega and Yair Rodriguez, as both men look to stay in the fight for the featherweight title.
Ortega (15-2, 1 no contest) last fought in September, when his second title fight ended in a defeat – as well as his first – when he defeated American Alexander Volkanovsky.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez (13-3, 1 NC) has yet to battle it out for gold, but the Mexican showed his potential in a brave loss to former champion Max Holloway in November.
Dynamic striker Rodriguez and jiu-jitsu specialist Ortega will likely need more wins if they are to fight for the belt – again, in Ortega’s case – which means Saturday’s main event is an important battle for every fighter.
Here’s everything you need to know.
When is it?
The event will take place on Saturday, July 16 at the UBS Arena in Elmont.
Qualifiers will begin at 4PM GMT (8AM PT, 10AM ET, 11AM ET), with the main ticket continuing at 7PM ET (11AM PT, 1PM ET, 2PM). Eastern time).
How can I watch?
The card will be broadcast live on BT Sport in the UK, with the broadcaster’s app and website streaming the fights as well.
In the US, ESPN+ will broadcast the event live, as will the UFC Fight Pass.
