Urban mobility company Uber may get wings later this year. The company announced at the end of March a pilot plan to add aircraft, trains and buses to utility services starting in the United Kingdom and ending by 2022.
The app does not allow direct request of air travel, but the tool integrates with other sites that sell tickets and rent aircraft, making travel a super utility. According to Uber, car rental and hotel room bookings can also be made through the app.
According to an American TV channel report, NBC NewsThis change is part of the company’s flagship project.
In that country, the company already allows users to rent bicycles, boats, scooters and other similar items through the platform. Jamie Heywood, President of Uber UK, says, “We want to be in one place for all your travel needs.
“Over the years Uber has been able to book rides, bikes, ferry and motorcycle services for you, so adding planes, trains and buses is a natural improvement,” he said.
Soon, the user will be able to request a car to the airport, travel to Europe on the same plane where the ticket was purchased, and upon arrival will board a train to the hotel that will be integrated into the app.
