Uber customers in the UK can now book flight tickets through the platform. The innovation is currently only available to select users, but will be rolled out to everyone in the coming months.
According to Business Insider PortalThe company has ambitions to create a super app for public transport – in the United Kingdom, it already allows booking tickets for trains including buses, Thames River ferries and Eurostar, in addition to cars.

“We are incredibly excited to introduce Flight Booking as the latest addition to our suite of travel booking options,” UK general manager Andrew Brehm said in a press release. “Over the past 12 months, Uber has truly become an all-in-one travel solution, along with trains, buses and now flight bookings.”
Uber works with the Hopper Travel app to offer flight tickets. Customers can cancel or change their flight for any reason. Additionally, bookers get a discount on car travel to the airport.
Prem said the project, first unveiled by CEO Tara Khosrowshahi in 2018, is the company’s “latest and most ambitious move” to turn it into a major travel app.
At the time, he said he wanted to turn Uber into the “Amazon of transportation.” A year later, he opined, the company would be “the operating system for everyday life in the city.”
