The advisory was issued on the 7th and advised not to travel to the Russian capital
Two weeks ago the US Embassy in Russia advised against “large gatherings”, including “concerts” in Moscow, due to “reports that extremists have imminent plans” to attack the gathering.
A warning was given on the 7th and a recommendation was made for 48 hours. However, this Friday, the FSB reported that at least 40 people were killed and more than 100 injured in a shooting at the Crocus City Hall concert venue on the outskirts of Moscow, and that there is currently a large fire at the venue.

“The embassy is monitoring reports that terrorists have immediate plans to target large gatherings, including concerts, in Moscow, and US citizens should be advised to avoid large gatherings in the next 48 hours,” the embassy said. siteAt that time, it asked people to avoid traveling to Moscow, avoid crowds, get information from local newspapers, stay up-to-date and be aware of their surroundings.
The United Kingdom issued a similar warning, and Russia's president dismissed all warnings, calling them “absolute threats.”
