It is already known that cats like to hide in closed, dark and warm places. It is therefore not surprising that a four-year-old cat, Rose, who escaped from home under the hood of a car was found in the UK, having survived an eight kilometer journey.
The story could have had a sad ending, but Rose ended up unharmed and only took one life.
It was discovered by David King, the car’s owner and a neighbor of the Rose’s owners, after dropping his grandson off at school. Returning home, he decided to check the car’s oil level, when he opened the hood, it took him by surprise.
a BBCDavid’s wife said:He came to the house yelling at me to go see the car. I didn’t expect to see two eyes and a furball. With a branch, I gently tried to turn it to see if it was breathing and what I found was a terrified cat.”
Scared Rose tried to hide more in the engine and His arrest ended, “without any way” to get out. The local vet advised David and the woman to contact an association that would come to Rose’s rescue.
“I was terrified. The boisterous journey to school left her very frightened,” Kim Brecher of the British Cat Protection Society told the BBC.
In order to get Rose out, I had to remove one of the front tires and jack the car up.
“Rose came running around the house like nothing happened, but I’m sure she had one of her seven lives,” the owner joked.
