The A further 143 deaths and 98,515 new cases were reported in the UK this Monday. However, the number of cases today is low as it contains only UK data. Statistics for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are not available due to the holiday season.
Recent official data show that there are 113,628 and 108,893 cases in the UK, respectively, related to Christmas Day and Boxing Day (holiday 26 December), respectively.
The infections recorded on December 25 represent a new record. However, experts insist that vacation numbers do not help to get a real sense of the spread of Govt-19, as many are less likely to test themselves.
The British Health Minister told a news conference that no new restrictions would be imposed on the country this year. Speaking to reporters quoting Sky News, Sajid Javed said, “There will be no further action before the New Year.” However, he appealed to people to be “alert” before the New Year celebrations.
