a The Court of Justice of São Paulo, in Brazil, has condemned an educational institution to compensate moral damages to a student who was denied entry to the classroom. The value is 5 thousand riyals (about one thousand euros).
As reported by RP10, the institution claimed that the student’s enrollment was inactive due to non-payment and prevented the girl from entering the class on the first day of the school year.
The student remained in the school office until lunchtime, when the parents showed proof of payment, which had already been made at the end of the previous school year.
In the decision, the judge indicated that the student had been studying at the school for nine years and that the solution adopted by the school was not the most appropriate.
He stressed, “It is clear that the solution that was adopted was not the best, especially considering that it is an educational institution that must ensure the preservation of the student’s interest at the expense of only bureaucratic issues that can be resolved in a timely manner.”
