The municipality of Pacos de Ferreira has appealed to the government to build a new health center in the city of Pacos de Ferreira. The site proposed by the municipality of Basines is the land in front of the municipal swimming pools.
According to Paços de Ferreira’s deputy mayor, Paulo Ferreira, the current health center reveals a “lack of conditions” and is located “in a terrible location”.
“This is an old ambition of the mayor, who has been working very intensively on this project. We have already identified the site and this is a work that has been done very intensively with the central government,” said Paulo Ferreira, on the sidelines of the celebrations for the 29th anniversary of the city of Pacos de Ferreira.
The Vice-Chairman of the City Council noted that since the end of the previous period, the municipality had appealed to the government to approve the project, as well as to finance it. “It’s a very urgent need in our city and in the county,” he said.
The same source indicates that if this is done, the new health center will be built on the land in front of the municipal swimming pools in Pacos de Ferreira. “It’s tough work, because this is not the direct responsibility of the city council, but we are very committed to getting this work started as quickly as possible,” he concludes.
