Honda has announced it will build a base in the United Kingdom for production for its partnership with Aston Martin in Formula 1 from 2026. The Japanese manufacturer, a long-time engine supplier to Red Bull Racing, will begin equipping Honda's cars. Group based on new norms of genre.
Currently, production of Honda engines takes place in Japan. The new British site, a subsidiary of Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), will focus on post-race maintenance and manufacturing power units for the 2026 season. It will serve as a logistics hub. to Europe.
“This new company has been created mainly to carry out post-race maintenance and preparation work for Honda F1 engines,” Honda said in a statement. “It will also serve as a logistical move for the European region. The establishment of HRC UK will improve the efficiency of Honda's power unit operations and support Aston Martin's partnership with the Aramco Formula One® team.
The deal between Honda and Aston Martin was announced in May 2023. The Japanese manufacturer will supply engines compliant with the new F1 regulations that come into force in the 2026 season. From mid-year, HRC UK will start recruiting engineers, technicians and support staff for the new factory.
