Samsung has released the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy A53. This major update brings dozens of new functions to this mid-range smartphone. In the coming days, this software update will reach the Galaxy A53 in many other countries and regions. Let’s take a look at what we can find in this update.
The One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy A53 has arrived! Install now!
The One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy A53 comes with firmware version A536EXXU9EXDE and is currently available in Indonesia and Singapore. It also arrives with the April 2024 security patch, updating the device from the March 2024 security patch. This is a relatively large update, so we recommend downloading it over Wi-Fi.
If you have a Galaxy A53 phone, you should check if you have the new update on your phone. To do this, go to Settings, then Software Update, then download and install. You can also download new firmware from our database and update it using Windows PC and Odin tool.
What’s new in the update?
Although One UI 6.1 arrives with dozens of new features for the Galaxy A53, it doesn’t have the Galaxy AI features found on the Galaxy S24 and other high-end smartphones. This new program allows you to copy an object or subject from one photo and paste it into another photo. Cropping and image searching in the Gallery app have also been improved.
However, when you edit videos using the built-in video editor, you can change the playback speed of the entire video or specific parts. You can export video editing projects from Samsung Studio (formerly Video Editor) to other Galaxy phones or tablets and continue editing there.
In addition, you can now apply frames and effects to your cell phone wallpaper. For example, you can apply depth of field (portrait effect) to backgrounds that show people or pets. The Galaxy A53 also received several new lock screen widgets from Samsung’s stock apps. You also have the option to use custom fonts for the clock widget on the lock screen.
You can customize alerts (AR Emoji, photo, or video) and reminders. You can use custom backgrounds or colors for these alarm and reminder customizations.
The Settings section in the Calendar app has been revamped.
In the Calendar app, you can use up to two personalized stickers each day. You can choose an icon to customize each reminder category in the Reminders app. You can also pin a reminder category for easy access.
You can rearrange modes, turn off/on modes from the home screen and use new conditions (alarm and smart display) for routines. Samsung has added the Relumino Outline function to improve accessibility for people with visual impairments.
One UI 6.1 also brings the new Quick Share functionality to the Galaxy A53. Using the Samsung Find app, you can locate your devices or your family/friends. You can share your location with others using the same app. You can sync Samsung Internet web browser tab groups between devices that are signed in with the same Samsung account.
The security of your data is improved with end-to-end encryption in Samsung Cloud. Samsung Wallet now supports passkeys to make the sign-in process easier, faster and more secure.
With the improved Samsung Health app, you can compete with your previous records while exercising.
You also have more options (activity hours or floors climbed) for daily activity goals. Women’s health tracking has been improved as Samsung now offers the option to add physical symptoms and moods while recording information about the menstrual cycle.
Microphone placement and video effects are now easier to access through quick settings during an active call. The weather widget in One UI 6.1 offers more information. You can enter text using voice dictation without hiding the Samsung keyboard. You can also open all widgets at once.
Meanwhile, the Finder section now includes corresponding search results from the Internet via Google Search. In addition, One UI 6.1 also adds more battery health protection options to the Galaxy A53.
