Escola Superior de Saúde do Politécnico de Viana do Castelo has been distinguished by the Order of Nurses – Northern Regional Section Award of Excellence, which recognizes ESS's commitment in providing quality training and preparing future nursing professionals to meet the challenges of the health sector.
Escola Superior de Saúde do Politécnico de Viana do Castelo received the Nurses Medal – Regional Section of the North with the Award of Excellence.
This recognition comes in the category of Nursing Training and Teaching in 2023. For the management of the IPVC Higher School of Health, this is a distinction that recognizes the work of an institution that gives priority to complete training, under the guidance of a capable teacher who focuses on the best preparation of his academic community.
The excellence in nursing training offered at IPVC's Escola Superior de Saúde is translated into knowledge through theoretical training, but also through relevant practical experiences that prepare students to face real-world situations, with an emphasis on providing high-quality health care.
IPVC ESS in the implementation of Pe4nursing educational tin
The IPVC Higher School of Health was also present at the signing ceremony of the partnership letter, which aims to implement the e-nursing educational platform. It's a platform Web-based onbilingual (Portuguese/English), “Oriented towards the nursing care design process, with a structure based on the main stages of the clinical decision-making process and with a content structure aligned with the nursing ontology, approved by the Nurses Association”.
The partnership letter, which will enter into force in July 2025, aims to make this platform available to institutions to implement it in the training of health professionals.
In addition to the IPVC Graduate School of Health, there are graduate nursing schools in Porto, the University of Minho, Coimbra, Lisbon, the Azores and Madeira, as well as VirtualCare.
The nursing e-learning platform emerged from research produced within the scope of CIDESI – the Center for Research and Development in Nursing Information Systems – and ESEP, one of 14 global centers accredited by the ICN (international council to Nurses).
