Marinha Grande celebrates World Health Day with the opening of the Stevens Family Health Unit (USF), on April 7.
This initiative will also be a way to honor health professionals, through a program of physical and recreational activities, dedicated to the theme “Healthy Living”.
The city council has announced that six doctors, five nurses and five clinical secretaries make up the new USF team that will work at Marinha Grande Health Center in Leiria District.
USF Stephens will “enhance the offering of health services to municipal residents, with greater quality and coverage for users without a family physician,” health advisor Anna Laura confirmed in a press release, congratulating the opening of this unit.
The “Healthy Living” event takes place in the Parque da Cerca, and is organized by the municipality in partnership with various community entities.
One of the goals of this procedure is to reinforce the importance of the family in the psychological and social structuring of individuals.
The same document asserts: “Children and the elderly certainly benefit by engaging in activities that promote healthy relationships, and contribute powerfully to combating social isolation, as well as promoting mental health for all.”
