The federal government has worked to make improvements to the current program model. Professionals now enjoy opportunities for specialization and master’s degrees, benefits proportional to the monthly value of the grant for work in the suburbs and remote areas and the right to compensation for the amount paid by INSS to reach the value of the grant during the six months of maternity leave, in the case of female doctors who become mothers. Doctors who have become parents are entitled to 20 days of leave.
To attract Brazilian professionals, the Ministries of Health and Education signed a partnership to encourage the registration of doctors trained through the Financing of Higher Education Students (FIES), who will then receive assistance to repay the financing.
To join, municipal managers must register on the e-Gestor page.
