The Ministers of Tourism, Gelson Machado, and Minister of Health, Marcelo Quiroga, participated in a technical visit to a viewpoint and a hospital in Guaruja, on the coast of São Paulo, which has received funds from the federal government. At about 11:30 AM, the ministers arrived at Mirante das Galhetas, in the Jardim Astúrias neighborhood, and were received by Mayor Walter Soman (PSB). In May, the site was opened and opened to the public. The new tourist area, which offers a panoramic view of Praia do Tombo and its main attraction, a glass floor suspended at a height of 45 meters above sea level, has received an investment of about 2 million Praia reais from the Ministry of Tourism.
In the letter, Machado reported that equipment delivery was delayed due to a fire that affected a community in the municipality. He also spoke about tourism in the city and the region, claiming that there are expectations for growth in the sector. “After the pandemic, which started in September, no country will have the potential that Brazil has for economic recovery in tourism,” he said. He also thanked Quiroga for participating, noting that “tourism and health go hand in hand.”

Soon, they went to Santo Amaro Hospital, where they visited the facilities of the Covid-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), which will receive ten new beds. In addition, the ministers also learned about the new haemodynamic devices used to perform the catheterization procedure.
In an interview with TV Tribuna, a subsidiary of Rede Globo, the Minister of Health claimed that there was an expected implementation of new beds in Guarujá, and commented that the site is strengthened in several disciplines. “Soon, we will add ten more ICU beds. The hospital has a good structure. In addition to the Covid department, there is also care for other conditions, such as cardiovascular diseases. We visited the Cardiac Catheterization Department, which has equipment for that security for those who come to Guaruja. , the people here will be well helped,” the minister praises after his visit to the unit.
