Education Minister Camilo Santana signed a letter of cooperation with the University of Birmingham in London this Tuesday (9/5). The British Institute promotes research on Brazil. The head of the MEC has been in the UK since yesterday ahead of the World Education Forum 2023.
The document provides for the creation of a Brazilian institution within the university. “The aim of the Ministry of Education of Brazil and the University of Birmingham is to deepen joint efforts with the aim of creating a Brazil Institute at the University of Birmingham, establishing leaders in Brazil and promoting exchange programs for teachers and students. Other initiatives in the field of education”, reads a part.
Brazil has resumed academic exchanges between countries through agreements. The latter was signed during President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s (PT) visit to Spain and Portugal. This is part of the reconstruction of the image the country wants to create in the international arena.
“The integration of the Ministry of Education in Brazil is a fundamental task that we will strive to strengthen and expand education in the country. I confirm again that Brazil is back. He returned to dialogue with the entire world in a more horizontal and democratic way. He returned to participate in the learning space shared with other countries,” the minister told the plenary of the event.
The theme of this year’s edition of the World Education Forum is “How are international trends in education changing and how are they shaping education? How are educational systems responding to such changes? “We want to learn from international experiences and recognize and communicate these lessons that have already been experienced in other regions”, said Camilo.
