Carapebus – The reference in municipal medical care, Benedito Nunes Health Center has doubled the number of visits in just six months from Mayor Bernard Tavares, in Carapebus (RJ); The unit provides assistance in 12 medical specialties, in addition to performing minor surgeries.
The post on the city hall portal states that the outpatient clinic has included otolaryngology as a medical specialty offered; “In the unit, services are still provided for general clinics; cardiology; ophthalmology; neurology; pulmonology; orthopedics; dermatology; angiology; gastroenterology; endocrinology; oncology; as well as performing minor surgeries.
Ultrasound, echocardiography, electrocardiogram and endoscopy are also performed. The memo also says: “From the beginning of the year to July, the number of people who served in the unit increased significantly.” Adding: “When comparing the months of January and July, the increase shown is 96%.”
The total number of consultations was 7,761 consultations: “In six months, 554 electrocardiograms were performed. 83 echocardiograms, 575 ultrasounds, endoscopy, 154 and 366 minor surgeries were performed in the health unit”; Services are provided by appointment only.
The coordinator, Antonio Fragoso de Souza Jr., notes: “The service is scheduled after the patient has gone through FHS triage or emergency, because it is first necessary for a clinical specialist to make the assessment and diagnosis; thus, the patient arrives at the unit and is properly directed to the care he needs” .
Fragoso assures that with proper diagnosis and medical referral, patients are seen in the unit from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.; It concludes that “it is necessary to provide proof of appointment and identity document for the service to be performed”.
