Recall that in September 2022, the King decided that the children of Prince Joachim, the youngest son, in this case Nikolai, Felix, Henrik and Athena, would lose their titles as Prince/Princess, leaving only the titles of Count/Countess.
At the time, Joachim objected to the decision. In Nikolai's case, he mentioned in an interview that it was “weird” when he found out what happened, but that it did not change him as a person in any way.
