The Secretary General of the Venezuelan Communist Party, on Monday, considered the election of Nicolas Maduro in the Venezuelan presidential elections “evidence of the participation of the Venezuelan people.”
“It is a great proof of the participation of the Venezuelan people in the election of their bodies, and in this case their president. We understand the hypocrisy of those who do not say a single word about what is happening in Palestine, about what is happening in Gaza, about the actions of the Israeli government,” said Paulo Raimundo.
“The Venezuelan people voted, they made a choice, they made a choice. Now that they have reaffirmed the previous choices, the decision must be respected. If we want to question the legitimacy of the electoral law, an electoral law in which 1,500 people participated,” he added. “If we want to question this electoral law, we have to question everyone.”
For the communist leader, who spoke to journalists during a visit to the Feira de Santiago, in Setúbal, the people who are now criticizing the legitimacy of the electoral law in Venezuela “are the same people who see, very easily, the creation of instability, interference and chaos. That’s why the world is outside.”
“What I ask myself is why there is always such a strong desire to question all electoral actions, in this particular case in Venezuela, with 1,500 international observers. In other cases there is not a single peep,” the communist leader repeated.
