Charles III The official coronation will take place within a month on May 6. The historic moment will take place at Westminster Abbey in London and will be rich in symbolism but also modern.
Trips will be two of the highlights of the entire festival. The King and Queen will depart the Palace of Westminster in the golden carriage used at all coronations since the 1930s, and the carriage used during Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee.
“This carriage will be the centerpiece of the procession,” says Sally Gutsir, curator of the Royal Collection Trust, recalling the vehicle’s four meters high, seven meters long and four tonnes.
But despite the fulfillment of tradition, this time there will be room for some consolation. The Diamond Car already debuted in 2014 Suspension, electric windows and air conditioning.
For practical reasons, the return journey will be much shorter than the one made by Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, who described the journey in the old wooden carriage as “not very comfortable”.

A St. Edward’s CrownWeighing more than two kilos, Carlos will be placed on the head during the coronation.
Already on the way back, the king will bring Imperial crownConsidered a “work crown”, it is used on formal occasions.
Camila, the Queen Consort, will be crowned with the crown Queen Mary, worn by Charles’ great-grandmother, Elizabeth II. Behind the option – a novelty in recent UK history – are questions of “sustainability and effectiveness”, says the royal family’s official website.
