Sporting reached the semi-finals of the National Futsal Championship, after defeating Caxinas, 3-0, in Joao Rocha. The expressive defeat (9-2) in the first half of the quarter-finals indicated clear differences between the two teams, and Al-Assad’s superiority was verified once again, with a strong entry, but it hit a “wall”.
Thiago Sacramento responded brilliantly in the first five minutes until Guitta, Leonine’s goalkeeper, found his way to the goal, integrated the attacking process, and provided a pass-and-goal solution. With the help of Banny Varela, Guitta smashed a shot into the Caxinas net, although his goalkeeper did everything to prevent the score from accumulating. However, until the end of the first half, Sporting will score again.
Banny Varela was again the assistant, this time to Hugo Neves to finish off a tight angle. With the advantage achieved, the second half did not change anything in terms of the outfit and the lion was back in control.
Sporting were winning naturally and indisputably, and it took just over four minutes after the restart to score again through Esteban Guerrero, who appeared at the far post to deflect a pass from Tomas Paco in the 24th minute.
The Lions’ victory, which confirmed their favoritism and ensured their access to the semi-finals, was built, as expected, in just two matches.
