Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg journalist, had already said that the Apple Vision Pro could arrive in stores sooner than expected. Now it's analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's turn to confirm this information. Apple's first mixed reality headset could be available in February 2024 in the US and Canadian markets.
Increase production and communication with programmers
Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo support their information on two distinct factors. First, the increase in mass production of the new device indicates that its availability will be imminent. According to both, Apple plans to put approximately 500,000 units in stores over the next year.
Second, Tim Cook has already contacted programmers so they can start testing their apps specifically designed for the new mixed reality headset.
Although Apple has not yet made any official announcement that could give clues about the launch date of the device, the preparation phase for the launch is already underway at a good pace.
The same sources say that employees at the Apple Store are already being trained on the new equipment so that they can conduct targeted sales for everyone interested in the Vision Pro.
Apple Vision Pro specifications
Recall that the mixed reality headset was officially unveiled by Apple last June at WWDC.
The Vision Pro is equipped with two high-resolution OLED displays that provide a total of 23 million pixels. The model is controlled by Apple's own M2 and R1 processors, which will ensure the performance of all resources in real time.
The device also contains 12 cameras and six microphones, in addition to running the new VisionOS operating system.
Now, the least exciting part of Apple's new hardware. The Vision Pro will cost $3,499 – around €3,180 in direct conversion. In the first phase, it will also be available in only two markets: the USA and Canada.
