On Thursday, the Ministries of Health and Education signed (13) cooperation agreements for the digital transformation of the Unified Health System (SUS) across the country.
With this measure, state and municipal hospitals and health centers will be able to access data from the Management Application for University Hospitals (AGHU), developed by the Brazilian company Hospital Services (Ebserh).
According to the company’s president, Arthur Shiro, the hospital management application has been used for ten years by about 50,000 health professionals.
“It is a system that has been tested and approved. It is used in 41 university hospitals in Ibsera, has around 3 million admissions per month and a base of 25 million patients using the system,” he said.
The Minister of Health, NĂsia Trindade, said the use of technology would be beneficial for reducing inequality and ensuring access to information for SUS users.
“This partnership has remarkable impact and potential, which all health administrators expect. It will benefit the entire SUS line of care,” he evaluated.
The Minister of Education, Camilo Santana, said the measure would allow the health system to be integrated and make patient care more efficient.
“The citizen goes to the health center and gets his data there, he goes to the UPA, and there is the history of that citizen. That’s the big challenge of this system, which is the most modern hospital system in Brazil,” he said.
The AGHU app is a standard system used by all federal hospitals operated by Ebserh. Using technology, health professionals can manage hospitalizations, distribute medications, surgeries, and lab tests.
