Para Mansa – The promotion of the Municipal Health Council, with the support of the Health Department of Barra Mansa, took place on April 28 and 29 (Friday and Saturday), at the Association of Parents and Friends of Persons with Disabilities (Apae), in the neighborhood of Estamparia, XI. Health Conference, whose theme was “Tomorrow Will Be Another Day”. The meeting takes place every four years and brings together representatives of the executive branch, civil society, users and professionals from the entire health field, public and private. The purpose of the conference is to observe the work that has been done in the sector and to identify new prospects for subsequent years.
The President of the Municipal Health Board, Guilherme Ribeiro, commented on the importance of the meeting. “We are going through a very appropriate moment and we want, through this conference, to set guidelines for public health policy in the municipality,” he stressed.
City Health Secretary Dr. Sergio Gomez, the most prominent trends that should guide the board. What we should discuss in the council are local, state and national politics. Para Mansa has been a reference in the health field because we work in an integrated way. We have the unconditional support of Mayor Rodrigo Dabel, as well as the full support of the state government. By working in harmony, we have achieved more representation with our board of directors and yet we are developing more every day,” he said.
During the congress, the delegates who will represent Para-Mansa at the state health congress are elected, as well as a report is prepared with proposals to be sent to the event, which will be held at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), on May 26, 27 and 28. Also at the meeting in Bara Mansa, the new councilors were elected to sit on the council in the following formation.
The event featured speakers Dr. Luiz Antonio Neves, Physician and Master of Public Health Policy from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), Social Worker, Ariadna Schiffer, and Central Paraíba Health Forum Consultant Helfer da Silva Pinheiro. Council members Eduardo Pimentel, Fernanda Carrero, Jefferson Mamedi and Luciana Alves also passed by during the two days of the meeting.
