The Ministry of Health is now better equipped following the delivery of 10 Toyota trucks and 60 motorcycles, provided by the Global Fund to support the national health system in the fight against infectious diseases, especially malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
The Minister of Health and Women's Rights, Angela Costa, received the donation from the National Coordinator of the Global Fund, Idalisio Aguiar, in a ceremony held in front of the Ministry of Health, in the presence of senior officials and health technicians.
The National Coordinator of the Global Fund, Idalcio Aguiar, explained that this support falls within the framework of the activities included in the program from 2021 to 2023. “It is now only available to health regions and the national health system.”
In her intervention, the Minister of Health and Women's Rights, Angela Costa, said that the transfer in question “It targets all health regions, including the Autonomous Region of Principe, to strengthen and accelerate actions to combat diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.”
The official also stated that the means of transportation aim to enable the implementation of measures to achieve goals related to sustainable development, as well as to support health managers in complying with the health program and improving the delivery of public services.
