Sonaecom has announced that, through its subsidiary Sonae Investment Management (Sonae IM), it has reached an agreement with Thales Europe to sell the entire capital and voting rights of Maxive – Cybersecurity to this company. The information was disclosed this Tuesday to the Securities Exchange Commission (CMVM).
“The transaction has a target corporate value of 120 million euros and is estimated to have a positive impact on Sonycom’s consolidated results, of approximately 63 million euros,” it can read in the statement. “These amounts may vary depending on the actual date of the transaction and the relevant financial performance of Maxive and its subsidiaries up to that time,” it was explained.
Maxive is the holding company that controls two cybersecurity companies, S21sec and Xylium. In a press release about this acquisition, S21sec comments that with this acquisition, it will be able to “extend its European presence,” noting that the deal “represents an opportunity for S21sec to continue its history of innovation and leadership in cybersecurity within an organization entirely dedicated to digital and technology innovation, and connectivity , big data, artificial intelligence cybersecurity, quantum technology and defense.”

Thales has 10,000 software programmers and 5,000 IT and cyber security engineers in 60 countries. 546 Maxive Cybersecurity professionals, distributed in Portugal, Spain, Luxembourg and Belgium, will be integrated into more than 2,000 employees in the cybersecurity area of Thales.
The statement sent to CMVM states that completion of the transaction is dependent on verification of the usual terms of such an agreement, including regulatory approval, which is expected to take place until November 30, 2022.
