SNS 24 has already responded to more than eight million calls this year, a record number that exceeded more than six million calls recorded last year.
“SNS 24 celebrates five years of activity, and this year alone, it has already responded to more than eight million calls. 2022 is the year with the most calls ever, surpassing over six million calls made in 2021,” he notes. Department of Health Shared Services (SPMS), in a statement.
According to SPMS data, about 2.8 million calls are automatically resolved.
The SNS24 line also includes, since April 2020, the Psychological Counseling Line, which has “supported more than 167,000 people”, having already responded to more than 40,000 calls this year.
“This service became available in English, and in just three months, it responded to more than 2,100 calls from non-Portuguese speaking citizens,” says SPMS.
The same source details that the SNS 24 “app” recorded 7.5 million “downloads,” allowing citizens to access a range of health information, such as the vaccine leaflet, prescriptions, purchase orders and results of medical examinations.
The SNS 24 portal was visited this year by more than 21 million users.
The SPMS also highlights the presence of 250 branches of the 24 SNS, set up during the pandemic, which “provide face-to-face support for digital SNS services and conduct remote consultations at parish boards, residential institutions and prisons”.
