Traveling to the United Kingdom Joe Biden’s trip abroad after assuming the presidency of the United States. The trip will last eight days and will include several meetings with friendly leaders. The most anticipated meeting with Vladimir Putin.
Ahead of attending the G7 summit in Cornwall, Joe Biden is scheduled to meet with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. After the event, Biden will be received by Queen Elizabeth II at Castle Windsor.
The eight-day trip will include several bilateral meetings and the first summit – since 2014 – between the United States and the European Union. The US president wants to strengthen the alliance with the old continent. In his luggage he presents a plan: to create a front of democracies to confront dictatorial regimes and to oppose China’s hegemonic and dictatorial test.
On Monday, in Brussels, the stage NATO summit. Here, too, Biden will strengthen the need for greater solidarity among allies in the face of growing threats from China and Russia.
The meeting between Biden and Putin was the most anticipated and, of course, the most pressing moment of the visit. The two leaders are scheduled to meet in Geneva at the end of Biden’s trip. Cyber attacks, interference in US elections, interference in Ukraine and persecution of Alexei Navalny are on the agenda.
