The first session of state discussions conducted by the State Secretariat of Health of Rio de Janeiro (SES-RJ), which took place this Thursday, 17/8, in the SES-RJ Auditorium, in Rio Compredo, is the starting point for strengthening the Workers’ Health District in the state. The idea is to create a space to improve actions aimed at supporting all municipalities, managers and professionals in implementing comprehensive occupational health care. Several points of interest will be considered with inter-institutional partnerships to ensure more quality.
“Working without getting sick is the main premise of worker health in the unified health system,” says Pablo Melo, Director of the Workers’ Health Division, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Monitoring and Primary Health Care (SUBVAPS).
Also present at the meeting was Rosemary Mendez, Supervisor of the Health Surveillance Department at SUBVAPS. Roberta Freitas, Coordinator of Occupational Health Oversight, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Oversight, Health and Environmental Oversight Secretariat, Department of Health (CGSAT/DSAST/SVSA/MS); and Julio Cesar Kima, state health advisor and representative of the state’s intersectoral committee for the health of workers and workers.
Representatives of 92 municipalities of the state of Rio de Janeiro, professionals working in the field of primary care and health surveillance, as well as SUBVAPS teams participated.
The Director also noted that, as directed by the Secretary of State for Health, Dr. Luizinho, the SES-RJ will reopen the State Reference Center for Occupational Health (CEREST-RJ) in September.
“We will have a multidisciplinary team that produces and strengthens the matrix support in health, monitoring work environments, supporting regional CEREST and promoting the creation of municipal CEREST, so that we have a strengthened network, as defined by the guidelines of the Ministry of Health” said Pablo Melo.
