Ryanair reported that it had the best month in its history in terms of passengers carried, with a total of 15.9 million passengers and an average aircraft load factor of 95%. This represents a 203% increase compared to the same month the previous year, and it remains in the midst of the pandemic’s critical moments.
The airline, Europe’s largest by number of passengers (but not by fleet, behind Lufthansa), said it operated more than 88,500 flights in June. In addition, it is expected to carry 15% more passengers this summer than the same season in 2019 (before the pandemic) which will carry 165 million passengers in the year until March 2023.
For comparison purposes, the company carried just under 100 million passengers in 12 months (between March 2021 and March 2022) and its pre-Covid record was 149 million in a similar period.
Ryanair said last week that it expects “minimal disruption” to its operations, even as strikes and crew members are announced over the coming weeks.
