The Russians fired [mísseis] Onyx and Kh-22 against the port and against critical infrastructure” of Odessa, according to the Ukrainian military, which determined that “a grain terminal and an oil terminal were hit” and that several fuel depots and shipping equipment were damaged.
The source added that the attack also caused a fire in the port area.
Several buildings were also damaged in another area of Odessa when debris fell from an intercepted missile, injuring three civilians.
The attack hit industrial infrastructure and a civilian employee of a company was injured. Firefighters mobilized to put out a fire that spread over an area of more than 3,000 square metres.
Russia also used Iranian “Kamikaze” Shahed aircraft in the attack. The wreckage of some of these wrecks is on many hotels and tourist facilities on the Odessa coast. Two civilians were injured in this part of the area.
The Ukrainian Air Force had reported earlier that Russia had attacked Odessa on Monday night with 14 cruise missiles and several “drones”. It is the second night in a row that Odessa has been under attack.
The escalation of attacks on Odessa and its port infrastructure comes after Russia announced on Monday that it would not extend the so-called Black Sea Grains Agreement, which allowed the export of Ukrainian grain through three Ukrainian ports, including Odessa.
