This morning, Russian forces launched a new wave of air strikes against Kiev and other Ukrainian cities, for the second day in a row. The attacks took place in front of the President of the Republic UkraineVolodymyr Zelensky’s speech at the closing of the NATO summit.
According to the Ukrainian military, citing Reuters, Russia launched a total of 15 Iranian drones overnight, 11 of which were shot down by the Ukrainian Air Force.
At least two people were injured in a fire caused by the drones, according to the military official in the Cherkassy region, south of Kiev.
“It was a difficult night,” Ihor Taborets said on Telegram. “The enemy attacked our area with Iranian drones.”
Weather warnings have been issued for several hours not only in the capital, Kyiv, but across Ukraine, and the fighting continues as NATO leaders gather for a summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.
On Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky participated in the closing of the NATO summit, which was held to bring Kiev closer to the military alliance.
The night before, Russia launched 28 drones against Kiev and Odessa, 26 of which were shot down by Ukrainian forces.
