The Dragons opened the scoring in two minutes, through Ezequiel Mina, having increased a little later, in the fourth minute, through Goncalo Alves, the same player who scored, with a free kick, in the 14th minute, two goals for the Dragons’ third goal. .
Despite the difference at the end of the first 25 minutes, the match remained alive in the second half, especially when Pablo Alvarez reduced the gap in the 30th minute. At the beginning of the last five minutes, the Argentine scored two goals and put the Eagles in the lowest difference, but nothing else changed on the scoreboard.
Benfica is now focusing all attention on the next match, which they will also face FC Porto, in the Champions League quarter-finals, on May 4. And before that, Porto competed in the semi-finals of the cup, against SC Tomar, next Saturday.
Sporting, who finished second, finished the regular stage with a 2-2 draw with Paradis, who are descended from the first division.
In the only position that was poised to grab what was to come in the title fight, UD Oliveirense beat Riba D’Ave 4-0 and maintained fifth place. Thus, Oliveira de Azemis’ team will face FC Porto in the quarter-finals.
