sicardo Martins Pereira gave an interview to Manuel Luís Goucha with whom he spoke about a particularly fragile aspect of his personal life. The businessman, also known as “Arrumadinho”, revealed that he was deceived by his father, after he was left with a debt of 90 thousand euros, which he still pays today.
“For me, this was the last straw in my relationship with him. I tried to maintain a friendly, cordial and close relationship until I was 30, until 2006, the year I was going to be a father. The year I was going to be a father, I found out that he made fun of my name leaving him owed about €90,000. Then I had another conversation with him.‘, he remembers.
“I told him: I will become a father this year, I am not a father yet, but I already feel such love for my son that I am sure that in such a case I will throw myself under the train to save my son. Throw me under the train for something that falls to you ”, he regrets.
“I gave him an ultimatum: You have to this day to pay this debt, if you do not pay it, I promise I will never talk to you again in my life, and that was the case. I already knew it was not. I will pay the debt. I met with my bank account manager I handed over all my savings, ran out of money and the rest I took a 20 year loan and am still paying it back today.”explains.
Finally, he says, “I hurt a lot, especially in the early years because he wasn’t completely accepted into the family either. All my brothers in solidarity with me cut their ties with my father, no one talks to him, but the family” For his part, his mother and aunt did not accept this decision easily, especially It spread to my brothers as well, and they felt like he was on his own.”
