Britain’s finance and health ministers Rishi Sunak and Savid Javid resigned on Tuesday in protest at Boris Johnson’s “lack of integrity, competence and leadership” and questioning the prime minister’s continuity. Johnson’s lies are at risk of absolving him of responsibility in another scandal, this time related to allegations of sexual harassment against an associate. The resignation letters of two influential ministers were tendered almost simultaneously this Tuesday afternoon, in an apparently coordinated ploy, at the same time as the Prime Minister’s interview to apologize for the lapses in the Deputy Minister case. Pincher was suspended last week after grabbing two at a London club. Johnson, who appointed Fincher to the position of deputy leader of the parliamentary bench of conservatives in parliament, initially said he was unaware of previous allegations of inappropriate behavior against the deputy, but this Tuesday his office was able to acknowledge that the prime minister. Pincher was privately informed of the allegations before his appointment. According to the office, Johnson “forgot what he was told.”
“People expect the government to be actively and efficiently led. I have come to the conclusion that I cannot continue like this,” wrote Sunak in his resignation letter.
