YuA tour guide recorded the desperate moment when Lascar Volcano, in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile erupted last Saturday.
Faced with the prospect of not being able to save himself, the guide, known as Felipe, ends up saying goodbye to his family.

To local news portal Meganoticias, the guide, who has visited the crater some 700 times over the course of 17 years, described the moment. “It was an amazing experience, and I’m grateful for life,” he explained.

At the first moment of the eruption, the group was about 50 meters from the summit, and they ended up walking 30 minutes to safety.
